Daily Report
January 03 2025
On Thursday we had very high winds along with lake effect snow squalls in the afternoon and no reports from anglers. A lake effect snow warning has been issed for our area along with high winds. As of early Friday morning we only had a few inches of snow on the ground at the shop but is expected to change as we go through the day. Before the holiday the majority of bank anglers were fishing the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville or the lower end of the river around the Town Pool, Longbridge/Staicase and the DSR. If your looking for some solitude and willing to walk the mid section of river would be a good choice. The drift boats are taking advantage of the water conditions while covering as much water as possible. For those anglers who are fly fishing, dead drifitng with nymphs, indicator fishing with egg patterns or swinging small streamers with sink tips have all produced results. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, egg sacs and beads have produced the best results.
