Daily Report
March 02 2025
On Saturday the warmest part of the day was first thing in the morning, the temperature quickly dropped throughout the day and with the very high winds the feel like temperature was below zero in the afternoon. The really cold conditions are expected to continue for Sunday & Monday, but after that looks like things are going to warm up as we head through the upcoming week. Check safewaters.com for the latest update on the water level, the flow is expected to be increased as we head through the weekend. In the upper end of the river anglers have been getting into steelhead in the normal winter holding areas, such as Lower Flyfishing Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Ellis Cove, Trestle Pool, Pineville and Sportsman Pool. In the lower end of the river on days when slush ice is not a factor anglers have been getting into steelhead in the Town pool, Longbridge, Black Hole and the DSR. Anglers who are fly fishing have had the most success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, beads, egg sacs or pink worms have all produced results.
