Daily Report

On Saturday we had cold and very windy conditions along with a mix of sun and clouds, the temperature reached near 30 degrees but the feel like temperature was in the teens. The release from the dam was 350cfs and the Pineville gauge was reading around 637cfs.  The weather forecast does show some warmer conditions for the upcoming week, so keep an eye on the water levels. In the upper end of the river anglers have been getting into steelhead in the normal winter holding areas, such as Lower Flyfishing Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Ellis Cove, Trestle Pool, Pineville and Sportsman Pool. In the lower end of the river anglers have been getting into steelhead in the Town pool, Longbridge, Black Hole and the DSR. Anglers who are fly fishing have had the most success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, beads, egg sacs or pink worms have all produced results.

Eggs: Steak-N-Eggs, Estaz eggs, steelie omelet, glo-bugs, sucker spawn.

Streamers: Crystal buggers, woolly buggers, zonkers, bunny leeches, egg sucking leeches.

Nymphs: Prince nymphs, copper john's, pheasant tails, wiggle stones, steelhead hammer, beadhead stones, rubber legged stones.
