Daily Report
April 25 2025
Thursday was another really warm day with a mix of sun and clouds and the temperature reached near 70 degrees, more of the same is expected for another day. In the afternoon the release from the dam was lowered to 750cfs and Pineville gauge was around 1000cfs, on Friday the release from the dam is forecasted to drop again to 500fcs. We currently have dropbacks scattered throughout the river from top to bottom which is normal for this time of year. Whether your in a drift boat or walking the banks, covering as much water as possible is generally the key to success this time of year. For those anglers who are fly fishing, several different techniques can be effective right now, whether it's dead drifting, swinging streamers with sink tips or indicator fishing with egg patterns, they all produce results. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, egg sacs, beads or pink worms have all produced results depending on the day.
