Daily Report

On Monday we had mostly cloudy conditions and the temperature reached into the upper 60's.  The anglers we spoke with who fished the lower end of the DSR reported having a good day while getting into a mix of kings and cohos. Other areas in the lower end of the river where anglers reported having action was the Papermill, Ballpark, Town pool area, Longbridge/Staircase and Black Hole. In the mid to upper end of the river anglers reported kings holding in and around the deeper holes such as Sportsman pool, Pineville, Trestle pool, Ellis Cove and the Upper Fly Fishing area.  As far as the lake fishing goes, on the days the boats can get out, the fishing has been very good. The open motel dates have been posted on the motel page of the website. If you don't see the dates your looking for, it's always best to call and check to see if something just recently became available.

Closed By Emergency Order: The Lower Fly Fishing Catch & Release Area. From September 15 through October 31, 2026. Drought conditions have produced low and warm water conditions, therefore the Lower Fly Fishing Area will remain closed in order to help ensure an adequate Pacific salmon egg take at the Salmon River Hatchery during the fall 2026 spawning season.  Any questions or concerns contact the Region 7 Fisheries office at 607-218-3767.
