Daily Report
March 31 2018
Please check the waterline for the latest update. On Saturday we had blue skies with plenty of sunshine and the temperature reached near 50 degrees. We got mixed reports from the anglers we spoke with, some groups got into a few fish, while others had a slow day. The upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville continues to get the most fishing pressure on a daily basis which is no surprise on a holiday weekend. The mid river is still a good choice if your willing to walk and looking for some solitude. The few anglers we spoke with who fished the lower end of the river had no success but reported that the clarity had improved from yesterday and was not an issue. For those anglers who were fly fishing, dead drifting with squirmy worm patterns or eggs patterns under a strike indicator produced the best results. Anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing had the most success with pink worms or blue egg sacs. Just a reminder that the Upper Fly Zone is now open.
