Daily Report
October 07 2018
Over the weekend we had increased fishing pressure which is normal for Columbus Day weekend. We currently have fish in the river spread out from top to bottom. In the last couple of days anglers have reported an increased number of kings spawning in the gravel areas of the river. In the mid to upper section of the river anglers have reported fish holding in and around the deeper holes and larger runs. In the lower end of the river fresh fish have been moving through on a daily basis. On Sunday the anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR reported having another very good day with mostly kings along with some steelhead. In the upper end of the river the anglers we spoke with who fished the Upper & Lower Fly Zone reported having plenty of action with a mix of kings, cohos and the occasional steelhead. The most productive patterns have been glo-bugs, estaz eggs, steelhead hammer, egg sucking leeches, woolly buggers, flesh flies, bunny leeches and estaz stones. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs have produced steady results.
