Daily Report
October 11 2018
Thursday was another mild day with the temperature in the 70's along with heavy rain showers in the morning. Late in the day the temperature started dropping and much cooler weather conditions are expected as we head into the weekend. The runoff from the rain caused off color water conditions in the mid to lower end of the river. Anglers reported that the best water clarity was in the upper end of the river in Altmar. The majority of anglers we spoke with reported having a very good day throughout the river. Anglers reported getting into mostly kings along with some steelhead and cohos. We currently have fish in the river from top to bottom. Kings are still entering the river on a daily basis as well as spawning in the gravel areas of the river. Each day were hearing of more and more steelhead being landed mostly in the mid to lower end of the river. Over the last couple of days the most productive patterns have been, glo-bugs, estaz eggs, sucker spawn, egg sucking leeches, woolly buggers, flesh fly, steelhead hammer, beadhead stones and bunny leeches. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs have produced steady results.
