Daily Report

March 17 2019

Sunday was another cold and windy day with scattered lake effect snow showers in the morning and in the afternoon we had sunny conditions with the temperature in the 30's. Despite what was posted on safe waters.com the water level was increased on Saturday night and 750cfs was the release at the dam. Overall we got mixed reports from anglers as they came through the shop. Some groups looked at the snow and wind in the morning and just headed for home early, while others waited for the weather to clear and fished in the afternoon. Anglers we spoke with reported getting into fish in the Lower Fly Zone, below the Altmar bridge, Trestle Pool, Pineville, Sportsman Pool and DSR. Over the weekend the most productive fly patterns were wiggle stones, rusher nymphs, infected pheasant tails, steelhead hammer, woolly buggers, estaz eggs and sucker spawn. Anglers who were float fishing or bottom bouncing had the most success with blue egg sacs, pink worms and beads.
