Daily Report

April 27 2019

As of this morning it was cold and very windy along with scattered lake effect snow showers and the temperature was in the 30's. What a difference a day can make, on Friday we had rain showers throughout the day and the temperature reached into the 60's. Over the last couple of days the best reports we had came from the mid to upper end of the river. The drop backs are scattered throughout the river and covering lots of water has produced the best results. We still have good numbers of steelhead spawning in and around the gravel areas of the river. Anglers who are fly fishing have had success dead drifting with egg patterns or swinging streamers with sinking leaders. The most productive patterns have been woolly buggers, egg sucking leeches, bunny leeches, steelhead buggers, zonkers, conehead muddlers, estaz eggs, glo-bugs and sucker spawn. Anglers who are float fishing have had success with pink and blue egg sacs, beads, pink worms and marabou jigs.
