Daily Report

November 18 2017

On Friday we had cold and windy conditions, even with plenty of sunshine the temperature struggled to reach into the mid 30's. With the recent drop in water level it's no surprise that the fishing pressure has picked up. Yesterday the majority of anglers we spoke with reported getting into some steelhead. Some groups did better then others, it mostly depended on experience level and what section of river you fished. The upper section of river between Altmar and Pineville continues to get the most fishing pressure on a daily basis but has been producing steady action for some anglers. The lower section of river is also getting some increased fishing pressure but has been producing steady action for some anglers. If your looking to cover some water and trying to avoid other anglers the mid section of river would be a good choice. Anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing have done well with pink and blue egg sacs. For those anglers who are fly fishing, single egg patterns under a strike indicator or dead drifting with nymphs has produced the best results.
