Daily Report

November 20 2017

On Monday morning a heavy band of lake effect snow moved through our area, nothing major but we did pick up a few inches of snow. In the afternoon we had windy conditions and the temperature reached near 30 degrees. Over the last couple of days anglers have been getting into steelhead throughout the river. Anglers in the Upper & Lower Fly Zone have been getting into a few fish with pale colored single egg patterns and nymphs producing the best results. Some fly anglers are still getting into a few fish while swinging bunny leeches or woolly buggers. The upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville continues to get the most fishing pressure on a daily basis. Below the bridge, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Bovines, Trestle, Refrigerator and Pineville has all produced action depending on the day. The mid section of river is a good choice if your willing to walk and looking for some solitude. With the low water conditions the fishing pressure has picked up in the lower end of the river. Anglers who are fly fishing have done well with egg patterns or beads under a strike indicator.  The anglers who are bottom bouncing have done well with blue or pink eggs and the anglers who are float fishing have done well with trout beads, pink or blue egg sacs and pink worms. Just a reminder that we will closed on Thanksgiving Day.
