Daily Report
September 06 2021
On Sunday we had light rain showers in the morning with cloudy conditions that latered cleared in the afternoon. Last night the water release at the dam was lowered so today anglers will be dealing with a new flow. Yesterday the majority of anglers we spoke with reported fishing the lower end of the river, overall we haven't spoken with many anglers who have fished the upper end of the river yet. The anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR and had success reported steady fish movement throughout the day. The majority of fish were kings but some cohos started showing up as well. Anglers said the best action seemed to be in the mid to upper section of the DSR. Other anglers stopping into the shop reported getting into mostly kings along with a few cohos in the Black Hole, Staircase/Longbridge, Town Pool area, Ballpark and RT2A. Anglers said it was not big numbers by any means, but enough fish and action to keep you busy throughout the day. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting or swinging streamers. For those anglers who are gear fishing, we have fresh egg sacs tied up and cured loose eggs ready to go.
Yesterday we had windy conditions so it was a tough day out in the lake, at least at our end. Some boats did mange to get into a few kings and cohos while others just got tosssed around like a salad. It seemed that the fish had moved from where they were the previous day, out a little deeper and farther north. If you've been following the LOC Tournament which started on August 20th it finishes up today. You can check out the leaderboard at Loc.org
