Tuesday was another day with calm and cloudy conditions and the temperature reached into the 60's. Warm and dry conditions along with above average temperatures for this time of year are expected right through the upcoming holiday weekend. The fishing pressure has increased which is normal for this time of year and this is one of the busiest weeks of the year for number of anglers. Most anglers are on the water early to assure they get the spot they want, while others wait for anglers to thin out late morning or early afternoon. Any spots where you have easy access to the water is going to have the most anglers, if your willing to walk you can get away from the crowds and find some solitude.  Yesterday the anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR reported getting into some kings with the upper section producing the best action. Anglers staying in the motel reported getting into fish in the Ballpark area, Papermill, Ellis Cove, Upper & Lower Fly Fishing Area. Anglers having the most success continue to say the same thing,you have to keep moving, cover water, put your time in and you will find some fish.  

The motel dates have been changing by the phone call and were trying to keep them updated. Just because you don't see the date listed your looking for, keep in mind that the person who literally called right before you did could of been making a change. When in doubt it's always best to call just to see if anything opened up or ask to be on a waiting list for a specific set of dates.  

Suggested Patterns:

Streamers: Comets in hot pink, orange chart, size 4. Egg sucking leeches in black or purple, size 4. Beadhead woolly buggers in black, olive, orange, red, size 6. Fishskull zonkers in black, olive, white, grizzly size 4.

Nymphs: Steelhead hammer in blue, pink, red, black, size 8. Estaz stones in blue, red, purple, rootbeer, chart, pink size 6. Steelhead hammer in blue,black, pink, chart size 6. Rubber legged stones in black, olive, brown size 6. Rubber legged Kaufman stones in black or golden size 4.

Egg patterns: Estaz eggs in blue, orange, pink, chart, purple size 6. Glo-bugs in chart, pink, oregon cheese, steelhead orange, light blue size 6. Omelets in chart, peach, cerise size 6. Sucker spawn in pink, chart, orange, blue size 6.
