On Friday we had cloudy conditions and in the afternoon the temperature reached near 40 degrees. Despite the high water conditions a few groups still made the trip and made the most of difficult conditions. One of the groups we spoke with did manage to land a nice size steelhead in the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville. The rest of the groups we spoke with were heading to some of the smaller local tributaries. On Saturday the forecast calls for very high winds, rain and the temperature reaching into the upper 50's in the afternoon. With the combination of our melting snow and recent rain be sure to check the water levels before making the trip.
