Daily Report
January 27 2018
On Friday we had cold conditions in the morning but with blue skies and plenty of sunshine the temperature reached into the 30's in the afternoon. The mild conditions are expected to continue as we go through the weekend. Yesterday the majority of anglers we spoke with reported getting into fish with the afternoon producing the most action. Anglers we have staying in the motel who fished the Lower Fly Zone reported getting into fish with nymphs producing the best results. The anglers we spoke with who fished between Altmar and Pineville also reported getting into fish while dead drifting with nymphs or bottom bouncing with egg sacs. In the lower end of the river slush ice was a factor in the morning, but in the afternoon once it cleared anglers reported getting into fresh fish while float fishing with blue or pink egg sacs.
