March 06 2025
On Wednesday we had very mild weather conditions with the temperature reaching near 50 degrees along with rain showers throughout the day and evening. With the recent warm weather and rain keep an eye on the water levels. The release from the dam is 1200cfs and the pineville gauge is reading around 1630cfs. In the upper end of the river anglers have been getting into steelhead in the normal winter holding areas, such as Lower Flyfishing Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Ellis Cove, Trestle Pool, Pineville and Sportsman Pool. In the lower end of the river anglers have been getting into steelhead in the Town pool, Longbridge, Black Hole and the DSR. Anglers who are fly fishing have had the most success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, beads, egg sacs or pink worms have all produced results.
