At this time of year it's normal that the majority of steelhead have finished up spawning and have reutrned to Lake Ontario. Your best chance of any remaining steelhead is generally in the lower end of the river. This time of year also provides some great opportunity for smallmouth bass fishing in the lower end of the river as well.  read more.

It finally stopped raining and the weather got nice with the temperature reaching into the 60's. The release from the dam has been lowered and the river is now running at a low flow. With the recent rain it's no surprise the river has been running at a high level. Please check safewaters for the latest updates. Prior to the high water conditions the few anglers fishing the river were still getting into a few dropbacks in the lower end of the river as well as some really nice size smallmouth bass. read more.
